It’s not easy to pinpoint exactly who Robbie Fulks is or what he does. Over the past 30 years, this Chicago singer-songwriter has reinvented himself numerous times through his 15 albums and writing songs in Music Row. Robbie began his music career in Chicago playing guitar with another band on our lineup this year, Special Consensus. On a random weeknight you might catch him playing jazz at a residency at The Hideout. Or Michael Jackson. Or Shania Twain. He’s been heralded having “an encyclopedic knowledge of country and pop music” and will always stand out, not just as the tallest guy on stage, but also for his impeccable musicianship and quirky sense of humor. Once asked about his penchant for reinvention and surprise, Robbie said, “Why not push the envelope and see what you are capable of doing rather than recycle the same old ideas over and over again?” Robbie Fulks is truly an American treasure and we’re proud to include him on our lineup this year at FolkyFishFest!
